I married my college sweetheart, Andy and we have four wonderful children, including triplets! Now that the children are in college, I have time to ride Rudy, who is the perfect horse for me!
Favorite food: Chocolate
Favorite team: Kansas City Chiefs
Favorite motto: To whom much is given, much is required.Goal: I am committed to keeping the great traditions of KCDS thriving while finding new ways to make KCDS an even more fabulous club for all of our members.

If you have any questions or concerns, you can email me at or check with one of our specialized committee or board members below. Even though I hold 2 positions, I only have one vote.

wendy vernon / volunteer coordinator

I live near Clinton, Missouri on a small farm where my husband Matt and I are raising our two children. We came to Missouri in 2001 from Utah. I fell in love with horses when I was a child on my grandfather's cattle farm in southern Alberta. I showed through 4-H and Pony Club and got hooked on dressage as a young adult. I am very blessed to keep my own horses and continue to learn riding and horsemanship. I'm looking forward to working with and getting to know you while we work in this fantastic sport.

Kathy O'Brien / parliamentarian

I was born a horse crazy kid but it wasn’t until my mid-30s that I began to live my riding dreams. After retiring from the practice of law, I now practically live at the barn.  I have been a member of KCDS for over 20 years and I have served on the board a variety of capacities during that time. I love dressage for the daily challenges it presents and I have thoroughly enjoyed my association with KCDS because of all the wonderful horse friends I have made.
